Confocal Microscopes
Zeiss LSM 880 with Airyscan - Inverted Zeiss Axio Observer 7 SP with Definite Focus, equipped with:
- A vast range of high power lasers available from violet to far-red (405, 458, 488, 514, 561, and 633nm excitation wavelengths);
- A full incubation chamber for regulating temperature and CO2 for live cell imaging;
- High sensitivity GaAsP photodetector plus two PMTs for confocal, and additional PMT for transmitted light;
- Airyscan module for super-resolution.
Zeiss LSM 510 META - Inverted laser scanning confocal microscope, equipped with:
- A vast range of high power lasers available from violet to far red (405, 458, 488, 514, 561 and 633nm excitation wavelengths);
- A small incubator system for CO2/temperature control for microscopy of living cells;
- Has a META detector that can be used for spectral detection of fluorochromes, and subsequent linear unmixing of overlapping fluorescent staining (although at a lower sensitivity than its other two PMT detectors).
Widefield Microscopes
Olympus IX-81 - motorized inverted widefield epifluorescence microscope equipped with:
- A CCD monochromatic digital camera that offers two modes of operation: widefield transmitted light (BF and PhC) and widefield fluorescence [U-MWU (DAPI); U-MWB (GFP); U-MWG (TRITC)];
- The software fully controls the microscope and the camera, allowing the acquisition of multidimensional images (multi-channel).
Nikon Eclipse Ti-U - inverted widefield epifluorescence microscope equipped with:
- With a CCD color digital camera that offers two modes of operation: widefield transmitted light (BF, PhC and DIC) and widefield fluorescence (UV-2A, FITC, TRITC);
- Allows the acquisition of multidimensional images (multi-channel).
Zeiss AxioImager Z1 - motorized upright widefield epifluorescence microscope equipped with:
- A CCD monochromatic digital camera that offers two modes of operation: widefield transmitted light (BF and DIC) and widefield fluorescence (AF430, DAPI, GFP, YFP, CFP, Rhod, mRFP);
- The software fully controls the microscope and the camera, allowing the acquisition of multidimensional images (multi-channel).
